1. Yogurt is one of the best overall sources of probiotics as it is made from milk that has been fermented by friendly bacteria. There are many health benefits of eating yogurt such as protecting against osteoporosis, strengthening the immune system, and preventing cancer, infections, gastrointestinal diseases, and asthma.

2. Kefir is made through a process of adding kefir grains, which are colonies of bacteria, to either cow’s milk or goat’s milk. There are approximately 61 different kinds of bacterial and fungal species found in kefir, making it an even better source of probiotics than yogurt.

3. Kimchi is a spicy Korean side dish that is fermented. It contains lactic acid bacteria that can benefit gut health. It is usually made from cabbage which is high in vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B2, iron, and vitamin K.

4. Pickles are a good source of probiotics when soaked in saltwater brine. They have health benefits because the saltwater soaks up most of the water that makes up pickles so when you ingest them, you take in the high concentration of vitamins that they provide, such as vitamin A, vitamin K, and calcium.

5. Tempeh is a soy product that is nutrient-dense and high in protein. It involves the fermentation of soybeans which makes it rich in probiotics. Tempeh is a great way to replace meat in your diet and can be used in a variety of dishes.
