Five Anti-Aging and Wrinkle Busters

There are a plethora of anti-aging and anti-wrinkle creams, serums, ointments, and masks on the market but why not try an easy at-home remedy to fight those signs of aging. Here are a few options to try:

1. Banana Mask

Bananas are good for you from the inside and out, as they’re packed with vitamins, such as B6 and B12, as well as magnesium and potassium. To make a mask, take a whole banana and mash it up. Then mix it with one teaspoon of yogurt and one teaspoon of orange juice. Apply it to the skin and leave it on for approximately 20 minutes. The vitamin B in bananas will help prevent aging, potassium will moisturize and hydrate the cells, and vitamin A will help fade dark spots and blemishes.

2. Lather On The Oil

Oils naturally provide the utmost in hydration. Applying coconut oil or olive oil to the skin and massaging it in before bedtime will allow the oil to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines all while you are sleeping. Olive oil is often used as a moisturizer because it is rich in vitamins A and E, and antioxidants. And coconut oil is rich in antioxidants and prevents free radicals from forming.

3. Egg White Mask

Egg whites can improve collagen production, shrink large pores, and give skin a firmer look. This mask is one of the quickest and easiest anti-aging and anti-wrinkle masks that you can apply. First, separate out the egg whites from the egg yolks and then apply the egg whites generously to your skin. Leave the egg white mask on for approximately 20 minutes and rinse off. It is as easy as that.

4. Oatmeal, Buttermilk, and Oil Mask

This oatmeal, buttermilk, and oil mask reduces wrinkles, tightens skin, and deep cleans. That’s an anti-aging trifecta of benefits all in one mask. Mix 2 tablespoons of oatmeal with ½ a cup of buttermilk with 2 teaspoons of olive oil. Apply this mixture to your face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and you are done.

5. Avocado and Flax Seed Mask

Eating avocados and flax seeds have so many health benefits so now imagine applying those benefits to your skin. The anti-aging benefits are incredible with avocados providing natural moisturization, as well as reducing inflammation and signs of aging. Flax seeds are great for hydration, lessening wrinkles, and firming the face. Take 1 teaspoon of ground flax seeds, ¼ of an avocado, and 1 tablespoon of honey. First, mash up the avocado and then add the flax seeds and honey, and mix all of the ingredients together. Apply this mixture to your face and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and see how moisturized and rejuvenated your skin feels.

Precautions

Like with any new beauty regimen or treatment it is important to do a spot test to ensure that you will not have an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients. The best way to do that is to apply a small amount to your inner wrist and wait a few minutes to see if any redness or irritation appears. As well, you can lessen the duration of your first use to make sure that the mask does not cause any irritation or redness on your face. For example, if the mask suggests 20 minutes, start off with 5 minutes and you can build up from there.
