Failed losing weight? Did you try counting fats? by Tanya Zilberter
Most
recent diets stress "not counting" a merit. Well, I understand this point
of view, also. Do you want to learn more? Let's take a look at The Rotation
diet and how it evolved into the T-Factor one.
Did You Try This?Counting the FatsTo Count (calories) Or Not To Count? That is the question! Some dieters think the very act of counting is very beneficial. They believe the more variables you are counting the better. It disciplines and creates awareness, they say. I think that the process of counting is such a mental effort it can result In Endorphin release which is reward in itself. So, count and get your rewards from counting, not eating! Just kidding... Most recent diets stress "not counting" a merit. Well, I understand this point of view, also. Do you want to learn more? Let's take a look at The Rotation diet and how it evolved into the T-Factor one. There is another Rotation Diet used for allergies. It can be found in the Prescription for Nutritional Healing by James F. Balch and Phyllis A. Balch. The author of The Rotation DietMartin Katahn, Ph.D., was a fat boy, fat young man, fat graduate, etc., till his mid-thirties. He tried and failed at any diet possible (he said) until he invented his own system, lost 75 pounds and had kept them off for 22 years by the time his book, the Rotation diet, was published. By that time, in the Vanderbilt University Program, Nashville, Tennessee (Dr. Katahn was the program director there), 75,000 participants had lost weight and improved their health. What has made this program so successful? Dr.Katahn explains that it is the special regimen, he named Rotation, that prevents the nasty slowing of metabolism -- the usual result of lowcalorie diets. This is the program's simple schedule. You go on a 600 Cal. a day regime for three days, 900 Cal. a day for the next four days, then to 1,200 Cal. for a week. After that you repeat the cycle (600+900+1200) once again and enjoy your well deserved vacation from dieting. The vacation is exactly what prevents your metabolism from slowing down. Depending on your desired degree of weight loss and your current success, the vacation can last for a week or a month, it is completely up to you as long as you are not gaining weight. If you need it, there is the maintenance part of the plan. Then you go on the diet again and so on and on, until you reach your ideal weight. Simple! The book, "The Rotation Diet" contains menus and recipes and complete meal planner for three weeks, for men and women, and for maintenance. It also advises on stress management, exercise, and behavioral modification problem solving. Dr. Katahn's next step was getting rid of counting Calories. He wrote a book entitled "The T-factor Diet." |
